About probabilityZero

I'm a rather boring, geeky college student. Most of my time is spent at a computer, reading a book, or sitting in (mostly uninteresting) classes. My hobbies include reading, blogging, creating and running websites, creating amateur video games, arguing incessantly on discussion forums, and buying books on amazon.com because I'm too lazy to go to the library.

    Hahaha! That was excellent!
I don’t think there are any conspiracies behind 9/11. Though I do think it was used for propaganda.

Same here. The “evidence” brought up by 911truth people is easily disproven, and they never actually attempt to prove their own side; it’s all one big either-or fallacy.
Our government did, however, do quite a good job of not only covering up its own incompetence, but using 911 to their advantage. They’ve been exploiting those peoples’ deaths for political gain ever since

This episode seems fishy. It seems to mock a healthy questioning of the status quo. I dont trust anything from the media anymore. I think the purpose of this episode is to cancel out those who are still undecided about 911, like myself. The governments biggest enemy in the media is Comedy Central, Jon Stewart, Steve Colbert and South Park to some extent. Nothing can sway public opinion better than seemingly altruistic satire. I wouldn’t be surprised if the government co-opted a deal with comedy central to co-produce an episode or two. Also, I have never seen an episode of SouthPark on any video site until now in full quality and length without it being banned for copyright issues – though I havent looked everywhere.

Taken with a grain of salt…

It’s sad that I can’t tell if you are being sarcastic.

    john, you’re a giant idiot

  6. Blacc says:

    HILARIOUS!!!!

I just love South Park. They are not afraid of offending ANYBODY, because they offend EVERYBODY! I dig the fact that they can find humor in just about anything going on in the world today be it good, bad, or trivial. Great Ep.

  7. atomed says:

anyway, putting the opposite opinion as “retarded” is not the way to defend your one…besides, south park rules

  8. superwammo says:

i didnt find this to be one of the funnier episodes of this season, but I did like it.

Many of the different theories behind 9/11 are silly….many however, do contain enough evidence of certain involvement that most people, if decidely assertive in disagreement, would be quite naive to ignore.

But hey, thats coming from a person who actually enjoys the process of thinking.

  9. Vinous says:

Superwammo, there is a reason why the theories seem silly. Because they were thought up and relayed around the world by people that have generally little cognitive ability, and do not as a group want to know anything that does not support their superstitious view of the world. I use the word superstitious, because I think the majority of people that believe in this hearsay, that is propagated around the world also believe in superstition and nonsensical practices. Much of the world seems very tribal to me. They gather to tell stories and share their fears of all things that they have no answer for…there is never much credence given to views which are not in accordance with the views of their tribe and particular their chieftain.

One does not have to believe the media, but really there is little reason for mainstream media to lie. Their interest is in the dollars that are paid by advertisers to sell their products…they have liitle concern for making up stories…unless they could find a way to market it more cheaply without everyone eventually jumping down their throat. It is way too complicated. It is hard enough to find content that keeps people interested. However, if one speaks of sensationalism…that is another story because that brings these same people with little cognitive skills to watch their programs.

Most people just want to believe, but a minority want to know only the truth, that is found only through observation and analysis of facts.

  10. Person says:

Vinous, get a clue. You said:

“…there is little reason for mainstream media to lie”.

Well, you seriously need to do your research! I studied media and communication for three years, and know that there is EVERY reason for the media to lie. And you actually answered yourself why they might lie:

“Their interest is in the dollars that are paid by advertisers to sell their products…they have little concern for making up stories…”

And similarly, they have little interest in telling the truth. They are only interested in keeping their advertisers and media owners happy. Since so many large corporations own the media, it is in the best interests of the media to do as they are told, and run those programs they are told to run, lest they miss out on advertising revenue. It’s not rocket science.

“Most people just want to believe, but a minority want to know only the truth, that is found only through observation and analysis of facts.”

Indeed. Try taking your own advice for a change.

Oh, and by the way Ellen, try arguing a point intelligently, rather than using ad hominem attacks. That’s something most people left behind in grade school.
