Recently, Senator and racist neocon asshole Rick Santorum told Bucks County Courier Times:
“As the hobbits are going up Mount Doom, the Eye of Mordor is being drawn somewhere else. It’s being drawn to Iraq and it’s not being drawn to the U.S. You know what? I want to keep it on Iraq. I don’t want the Eye to come back here to the United States.”
Basically, if I remember those crappy books correctly, he’s saying that Al-Queda is focused on Iraq, not the US. Well, Iraq hated Al-Queda as much as we did to begin with, and increased terrorism is not a good thing no matter where it is. Besides, it’s pure dumb luck that there hasn’t been another major terrorist attack in the US, given that Dubya hasn’t done much to actually protect us, and in fact it’s quite the opposite.
His comment is so ridiculous I can’t think of what else to add right now, other than my hope that he will be out of office soon.
