Happy Holidays!

Have a happy non-denominational holiday season, fundies!

On another note, there is no war on Christmas. Get over it.

About probabilityZero

I'm a rather boring, geeky college student. Most of my time is spent at a computer, reading a book, or sitting in (mostly uninteresting) classes. My hobbies include reading, blogging, creating and running websites, creating amateur video games, arguing incessantly on discussion forums, and buying books on amazon.com because I'm too lazy to go to the library.

    :D ROFL… Great post!

It still surprises me they believe that crap about the “War on Christmas.” Apparently allowing for any other religion in public is violating the christian right to discriminate against others.

  2. KnifeyMcShanker says:

People are calling it “the war on Christmas” because it was originally a Christian holiday, and every year corporations work to make it more centered toward buying and spending, as well as receiving (the exact opposite of how it started.) But I’m not saying that I agree with them, people are still free to celebrate Christmas in any way they see fit…

Well, it was originally a pagan holiday, but I see what you mean. Unfortunately, the current “war on christmas” isn’t about commercialism, but about so-called censorship of christmas in favor of political correctness. Conservatives are upset that the Wal-Mart greeters said “happy holidays” instead of “merry christmas” (thus the title of this post), or that other holidays besides christmas had representative displays in parks, etc. They claim that acknowledging other religions is somehow offensive to them.
Read the wikipedia article for more information.

    Not true.

and every year corporations work to make it more centered toward buying and spending, as well as receiving (the exact opposite of how it started.)

You have the war on christmas confused with the peanuts christmas special. This is about whether we should allow other holidays other than christmas to be recognized. The people at fox news are making their careers off criticizing department stores who have signs that say “happy holidays” because they think it’s offensive to christians.

But I’m not saying that I agree with them, people are still free to celebrate Christmas in any way they see fit…

That’s a nice sentiment, but you apparently have no idea wtf we’re talking about.

KnifeyMcShanker: They can’t celebrate it any way they want to if their idea of celebrating is denying the fact that this is a christian country and refusing to even say merry christmas. This isn’t about selling/buying, this is about the secular progressives like probabilityzero trying to censor christmas.
